Marcus Lim is an
artist and scenic artist. Informed by his experience in scenography, Marcus’
personal practice incorporates theatrical and mark-making techniques to his
paintings. Taking cues from nature and unkempt views across the
seasons, his inspiration also extends across interior architecture, design and
traditional decorative painting. Currently, his focus lies in experimentation
with mediums including wet and dry techniques as well as print processes - exploring
a variety of unconventional surfaces for traditional painting.
He also specialises in backdrops and painted effects for clients within (and not limited to) theatre, film and television, fashion, commercial and art fabrication. His work ranges from large-scale sets to backdrops for studio photography, prop painting for screen and art fabrication for fine artists.
